Strawberry and Cream cake

My wife's birthday cake of choice is "vanilla cake, strawberries, whipped cream, that is all", I think I've convinced her about the preserves, and she's coming around on the kiwi. I wish her birthday was in Februrary instead of June so the whipped cream would be easier to whip. I also wish she liked buttercreme the best, because it's impossible to make whipped cream look tidy at all. It came out alright for only 25 minutes of prep, did the cakes yesterday.

The kiwis weren't quite ripe, so that's what's with the sugar, but they were perfect by the time we ate the cake.
